Hi, my hair is long and I need a haircut, but I don't have much time to go to a hair salon for a nice haircut, so I will go for a hair salon that cuts your hair quickly which might not look nice, but serve the purpose of having a haircut and get it done quickly.
May I know what natives call that kind of hair salon in English-speaking countries? or "quick cut" or "express haircut" work in the context? Thank you.
Peter: My hair is super long, and I need a haircut real bad.
Susan: There's a nice hair salon down the street.
Peter: No, that one is busy all the time. And I don't have time to wait, I need one right now.
Susan: There's a <quick cut> or <express haircut> on the second floor in ABC mall.
Peter: Thank you.

We use the name of the business, e.g., Great Clips. "There's a Great Clips on the second floor of the ABC mall." "You can get a quick haircut at Great Clips".

Others may know better, but I don't think we have express hair salons here.

The term "salon" is reserved for businesses that cut your hair at a high price, and where you usually need an appointment. It's what used to be called a "beauty parlor."

I don't think we have a specific term for them in the UK. If one existed, I can believe that they might call themselves an 'express hair salon' or 'express hairdressers', but the term doesn't mean anything to me.

I don't think that 'quick hair cuts' or 'express hair salons' exist in any European country.

I can't see the attraction myself. If I had to choose between being obviously in need of a haircut, and having recently suffered a bad one, I know which side I'm on.

I suspect you're right, I've never heard of it anywhere either. I would just word it as mentioned in post 2 - "you can get a quick haircut at X", X being the name of the barber/salon.
In BE, barbers tend to do quick haircuts, compared to salons, but they're not express places.

These sorts of places seem to have sprung up all over the UK in recent years - the Burger King of hairdressers, by the looks of it. No appointments, flat rate pricing, and you're probably in and out in fifteen minutes. I don't know if there's a generic name for this type of business, though.

We have what sound like very similar chains in the U.S. Probably the best-known one is Supercuts. I'm not aware of a generic name either, though.

Yes, in and out in fifteen minutes, no need to make an appointment. I’m looking for whether there is a generic name or something close to it.

I don't think there is one.

I don't think we have that. Even places like Supercuts don't advertise speed, they advertise affordability and the lack of needing an appointment. I don't know any hair place that advertises they are going to rush you in and out. I think that would be a bad advertising strategy here. See Cidertree's comment above at number 7.

It might be worth pointing out that, where I live, most hairdressing for men doesn't involve appointments and rarely needs the customer to stay in the barber's for more than 15 minutes. If there's much of a queue I do some shopping and go back later.
There are some men who go to expensive salons by appointment to have their scalps and egos massaged and their wallets milked, but they are very much a minority.
So there's no such thing as an express haircut for me.

I would say the only time I've ever had an "express" haircut was in boot camp.
